Information about domain names in .cx

The .cx top-level domain (TLD) is the official country code extension for Christmas Island, a small territory in the Indian Ocean. Managed by the Christmas Island Domain Administration, .cx is intended primarily for entities with a direct connection to Christmas Island, such as local businesses, organizations, or residents.

However, .cx is also open to international registrants, making it accessible to anyone interested in a unique and memorable web address. This openness has led to its adoption for creative branding and novelty website projects, as well as by communities looking for an uncommon extension.

One of the main advantages of the .cx domain is its short, distinctive look, helping websites to stand out and be easily remembered. Additionally, with fewer registrations compared to standard domains, .cx offers a wider availability of desired names for new registrants.
